A feeling spreads that the government cannot cope with the situation the country is going through. That, together with previous governments, has an important part of the responsibility in what has happened. A responsibility shared with the elites of the country. The country seems to be drifting and no solution appears in the horizon.

The European Court of Justice rules that the Spanish laws on evictions are in breach of Community law. Thousands have lost their homes in recent years under such laws.
